CHARSADDA: The militants blew up yet another school on Friday bringing the number of destroyed schools in Charsadda district to 16.
“The militants blew up the Daman Girls Primary School in the limits of Khwajawas Police Station in Shabqadar tehsil early in the day,” a police official said.He added the incident happened despite the fact that security of educational institutions in the area had been beefed up. Locals said both the rooms in the school building were destroyed as a result of the blast. It caused concern among the people.
The police said around two kilogram of explosives was used in the blast. According to official record, it was the 16th school to be bombed by militants in Charsadda district. However, local sources said that 23 schools had been destroyed in the district to-date.
