Girls’ school blown up in Charsadda city

CHARSADDA: Unknown militants dynamited a government school in the Umarabad area of Charsadda city, sending a wave of terror across the area, police sources said.

The sources said the structure of the Government Municipal Girls High School suffered a partial damage in the pre-dawn explosion. However, no causality was reported in the incident. The bomb disposal unit officials said that one kilogram of explosives was used in the explosion.

The militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and also in parts of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), particularly Khyber Agency had intensified attacks on girls schools and colleges. Recently, a girls college was bombed in Mardan district and more than 35 girl students were injured. However, the police and the security forces were yet to protect the seats of learning from attacks and arrest the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.
