Girl repeatedly ‘gang-raped’ in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in Gujranwala, Express News reported.

Police said that victim’s father I*, a resident of Gulabpura, lodged a complaint at the police station in which he stated that his daughter S* was allegedly kidnapped by Tahir, Allah Rakha and Javed. He added the culprits took her to an undisclosed location and allegedly gang-raped her for several days.

He maintained that her daughter managed to escape from the custody of the accused and reached home.

I* stated that the accused were the residents of the same area and were hurling life threats at them. He requested the police and authorities to take action against the criminals and provide justice to them.  He also demanded exemplary punishment for the accused.

Meanwhile, the police said that no arrests had been made so far. However, efforts were under way to nab the criminals.

Earlier on June 28, 2018, a girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by her father in Faisalabad’s Chak Jhumra area. The victim’s mother T*, a resident of Chak No 199-RB in Fakharabad, lodged a complaint at the police station in which she stated that she works as a maid in the area, while her husband, A*, works as a labourer at a factory.

She added accused A* had been allegedly sexually abusing their 15-year-old daughter R*for the last seven months while she was alone at the house. The woman stated in her complaint that as a result of the repeated rape, her daughter had become pregnant. She said A* also threatened their daughter of dire consequences if she spoke about her ordeal.

The victim’s mother said that when the news spread in the village, the villagers took the matter to a panchayat. She said the panchayat members visited her home and asked her to keep the matter secret as it could bring a bad name to the family. She said the panchayat also pressurised her not to take action against her accused husband.
