Girl abducted from Faisalabad rescued

Karachi: The Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Sindh police on Wednesday conducted a joint raid in Rind Goth, within the remit of Sachal police station, and rescued a 20-year-old girl who had been kidnapped from Faisalabad on July 2.

According to the CPLC spokesman, the parents of “R” had lodged a case for her abduction at a police station in Millat town, Faisalabad, and the matter had come to CPLC due the personal interest of its chief Ahmed Chinoy.

The spokesman said the CPLC involved the services of AVCC and the agencies tracked phone calls and the recordings obtained revealed to them that “R” was being held somewhere within the remit of Sachal area.

Subsequently, he said, a joint team of CPLC and AVCC conducted a raid in Rind Goth and safely rescued the girl and arrested the accused.

He said parents of “R” were being contacted to hand them over to her after completion of legal formalities.
