LAHORE: A five-year-old girl who fell victim to physical torture of unidentified criminals has been discharged from hospital after 29 days but the police failed to trace the accused involved in the criminal activity.
The girl (S) has been treated in the Services Hospital for 28 days where she underwent five operations.The Punjab government had formed a five-member committee to conduct an inquiry into the matter but in vain. During the search operation, the police also arrested many people but could not find out the real criminals. One month back, some unidentified persons had kidnapped the girl while playing outside her house, raped her and threw her in a critical condition outside the Ganga Ram Hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have made security arrangements for the girl’s house and deputed a number of police personnel at the nearby street. It was reported that police were inspecting people roaming around the locality, adding that overall security was tightened and strict checking was being conducted at entry and exit points. According to the Investigation DIG, investigation into the tragic incident was in the process but nobody was charged.
