KARACHI: The body of a five-year-old girl, who is believed to have been raped and strangled, was found in Bheempura on Sunday, said the Napier police.
Locals discovered the minor’s body near a block of flats, following which they informed the police. The law enforcers took the victim to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where a medico-legal officer (MLO) told them that the body was a day old.
The MLO said the girl was raped and then strangled, adding that the marks on the victim’s body suggested that she was also beaten up.
Police said the minor was kidnapped on March 28 from outside her grandfather’s residence, which was also situated in their police precincts.
They said the girl and her parents were visiting her grandfather, adding that the minor had left the house to buy sweets and then gone missing.
