First woman to become SP in Dera

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Nov 5: Ms Safia Begum is the first woman to have become a superintendent police in this male-dominated part of Punjab. She has been appointed SP of Punjab Highways Patrol, Dera Ghazi Khan.
Safia Begum, who was earlier serving as DSP operations of Punjab Highways Patrol in Lahore headquarters, on Wednesday assumed the charge of SP and received the guard of honour presented by young officials.
Earlier, inspector Tehmina Chaudhry had served here in traffic police, who is now serving as traffic warden in Multan. Mrs Irum Bokhari had served here as EDO (revenue)-cum district coordination officer.
