By: Shakeel Anjum

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday ordered DG FIA to crack down on officials and people involved in smuggling younggirls from the Central Asian countries for sex-trade, interior ministry sources said.

In his five-point direction note to DG FIA, the minister asked him to crack down on big barons involved in human smuggling. He said the FIA should achieve the objective within a week and submit a report to the ministry.

The minister, seeking effectively ways to block the Central Asian women from entering into Pakistan, directed the FIA authorities to immediately arrest those officials assisting the human smugglers.

The minister asked the agency to hunt down such officials placed in Pakistan’s embassies in the Central Asian countries who were facilitating the mafia by providing Pakistani visas to the women.

The minister has already suspended the entire staff of FIA Immigration deployed at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport for clearing two young girls from Ukraine without any visa or traveling documents.
