Female literacy

Sir: It is a dilemma that around 41 per cent of Pakistani girls are unable to complete primary school due to several social and cultural restrictions. In some cases parents stop young girls from getting higher education and they are married off instead, because of which girls remain unable to make the right decisions and plan for their lives.

Parents do not realize that it is very important for girls to be educated. A mother is supposed to be the first institution for a child and if she could bring up a child in a likeable manner, nothing like it. This can only happen if she is educated and literate in the real sense. It is not only being educated, it is being enlightened about things that matters at the end of the day. An educated woman is nonetheless always a better mother.
