Sir: One can easily feel and witness that, in most parts of the country, women have a lower place in society than men. This mindset must change in this day and age. Indeed, women and men have been and will always be equal in the sight of God. Women, particularly rural women, have not been given the privilege of equal education with men. I believe in education and say that there must be no difference in the education of males and females in order that women may develop an equal capacity and importance with men in the socioeconomic equation. Then the country and Pakistani society will attain unity and harmony. The war against terrorism and its ravages, injustice, inequality and poverty have blighted Pakistan; the education of women will be a mighty step toward its abolition and ending, for she will use her whole influence against war.
