DSF’s efforts for women empowerment hailed

LAHORE: To mark the success of its women empowerment project that rehabilitates domestic violence victims, Depilex Smileagain Foundation (DSF) organised an event on Wednesday.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Health Salman Rafique graced the event by his presence as the chief guest. On the occasion, Salman Rafique appreciated the DSF for getting involved in a project that has helped victims of domestic violence in reintegrating themselves in life and living productive and normal lives again. He also said that women empowerment was an issue of priority on the agenda of the Punjab government, as the chief minister had recently announced to establish 14 day-care centres in Punjab to support working mothers.

“We assure the DSF of our full support for their noble cause. We will be there to help them whenever they need,” he said. Guest of honour Humaira Naveed expressed her views and appreciated the work done by the DSF for women empowerment.

Genzee Solutions CEO Dr Awais-e-Siraj gave a presentation on the important aspect of financial and economic empowerment of women.

Dr Zahra Ahmed, a renowned doctor at the CMH Lahore Medical and Dental College shared her views on the psychological support provided to the victims through the workshops conducted round the year. Under the banner of this project, 30 victims were treated by the DSF in 2013.
