Karachi: A 30-year-old woman committed suicide at her residence within the Memon Goth police limits on Wednesday.
Sughra, wife of Babul and a mother of five children, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Babu Mohallah, Malir after a violent quarrel with her husband. She had locked herself in a room and her body was found by her husband who broke down the door when Sughra did not respond to repeated knocks.
The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities and the police stated that incessant domestic abuse had forced the victim to take such an extreme measure.
