The Kahrorepucca additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday handed down death sentence on three counts along with fine to a man for killing a woman and her five-year-old daughter.
According to the prosecution, the convict, Ramzan, strangled Shazia and her daughter, Zahra Bibi, on Sept 27, 2022, due to a family dispute. Following a complaint filed by Niaz Ahmed, the father of the deceased Shazia, the Kahror Pacca police registered a case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Ramzan was arrested, and his case was presented in court.
In the judgment announced on Tuesday, the judge sentenced Ramzan to death on three counts and ordered a fine of Rs1,250,000.
In a separate case, an additional sessions judge in Multan sentenced Haseeb Nasir, a convicted drug trafficker, to 10-year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs100,000.
If he defaults on the fine, Nasir will serve an additional three months in prison.
