Couple killed for ‘honour’

SIALKOT, Oct 10: A newlywed couple was gunned down allegedly over ‘honour’ in Sakhokey village near Daska on Friday.

Zafar Iqbal, of Sakhokey, had married Tanzeela, of Dheedowali, for love a few months ago. They left the area to avoid any ‘backlash’ by girlÂ’s disapproving family.

The couple returned to Sakhokey village on Thursday night but Tanzeela’s relatives spotted them. Some unidentified assailants shot them dead and threw their bodies in fields and fled. The Daska Sadar police sent the bodies for autopsies and registered a case.
