Couple killed by son-in-law

A couple was gunned down by their son-in-law in Sector 6/H of the Korangi Industrial Area, police said.

Forty-eight-year-old Mushtaq and his 42-year-old wife Sadia suffered bullet wounds when their son-in-law Sajid arrived at their residence and, after an exchange of hot words, allegedly took out his pistol and shot the couple.

The suspect fled after the attack, leaving his parents-in-law in a pool of blood. Upon hearing the gunshots, neighbours rushed to the house and found Mushtaq and Sadia wounded.

They immediately informed the police, who shifted them to hospital. However, Sadia had died by the time she reached the medical facility and Mushtaq breathed his last while he was being treated.

Police said Sajid had a quarrel with his wife, who left the house. He later stormed into his in-laws’ residence and asked about his wife. When his in-laws refused to tell him where she was, he murdered his parents-in-law in a fit of rage.

In a separate incident, 27-year-old Abdul Rauf was shot dead by his elder brother Abdul Qayyum in his residence at Tashkand Society after a heated argument. The incident took place within the Jackson police limits. Family members took the body to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem.
