City’s women police stations to be upgraded

Karachi: Two new women police stations would be established while the three already functioning in Karachi would be upgraded.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah.

Presiding over a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) here on Saturday, he said that the new women police stations would be set up at Sukkur and Mirpurkhas.

Three women police stations already functioning in Karachi would be upgraded, he added.

At the meeting the IGP Sindh was briefed about steps for the women police projects under the Women Assistance Programme from the United States.

A police statement said that Mushtaq Shah reviewed the performance of the women police stations of Karachi south, east and west zones and gave necessary instructions.

He said that with better training and equipment women police officials are provided opportunity to further enhance their performance.
