ISLAMABAD – A poor widow, Mehboob Jan, 67, has a sad story to tell that how officials of CDA’s Directorate of Municipal Administration after being allegedly bribed by her relatives maltreated her when she visited the concerned office to get death certificate of her husband a couple of days back.
With tears in her eyes Mehboob Jan said, “They (DMA officials) tore my application for the purpose into pieces saying according to relatives of the deceased, you (Mehboob Jan) are missing for the past 10 years.”
Hadayat Khan Mughal (her husband) was died on June 22 after long illness. He has left a costly house in Sector I-10/4 as his legacy. Mehboob Jan alleged that DMA Assistant Directors Kashif Shah and Yasir Gil even tortured her and threatened of dare consequences.
“They denied issuance of the death certificate to me contrary to the fact that I possessed all the necessary documents for the purpose and it is because those relatives of my deceased husband want to grab the costly property he had left.”
However, while talking to The Nation, Assistant Director Kashif Shah negated the impression.
