Brother shoots teenage sister dead for ‘honour’

A teenage girl was allegedly gunned down for ‘honour’ by her pitiless brother in Pathan Colony, in Banaras, on Monday.

After shooting his sister, the boy fled from the murder scene; the police had begun searches to arrest him.

The police said the accused was suspicious about his younger sister’s character and shot her dead after a quarrel.

The girl’s body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

Just four days ago, a 35-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment at Nisar Manzil in the Bohra Pir area.

According to DSP of the Eidgah police station Chaudhry Irshad, the woman was stabbed multiple times. Her gold bangles were also missing.

The woman had developed a dispute with her in-laws over the gold bangles that the attackers made away with, the DSP added.

On February 15, a woman died while her daughter sustained injuries after they were shot at by unidentified men, allegedly over refusing a marriage proposal, inside their house in Madina Colony.
