Bride’s family kidnaps groom’s father

BUREWALA: About 15 people of a family, whose girl contracted love marriage with a youth, kidnapped the youth’s father after torturing him and threatened to kill him if their girl was not returned.

Saleem, a resident of Chak 148/EB Baseera, contracted marriage of his choice with Rukhsana, daughter of Bashir Ahmad of 158/EB village, a month ago and the couple escaped from the area and started living at an unknown place.

The girl’s family started pressurising the groom’s family for the return of their girl. On Thursday night, the girl’s family members kidnapped Saleem’s father Nazir Ahmad from their cattle pen at Chak 83/12-L, tortured him badly and took him to an unknown place.
