Boy killed after sexual assault
LAHORE: A six-and-half-year old boy was found strangulated after being sexually assaulted at residential quarters of the Government Technology College, Raiwind Road, on Thursday.
Police have taken a suspect, an employee of the college, into custody for interrogation.
Police inquiries revealed that Ahmed Raza, son of college employee Muhamad Khalid, left his quarter to purchase some goods from a nearby shop on Wednesday evening but did not return.
The family launched a search for the boy but to no avail and finally a report was lodged with the Chuhng police the same day.
On Thursday evening at around 5:30pm, some locals spotted the body of a child lying behind a quarter, situated near the house of Khalid, and informed the family and the police. Later, Khalid identified his son’s body.
Saddar division SP (Investigation) Azhar Akram told Dawn the suspect mutilated the privates of the child after sexually assaulting and strangulating him with the boy’s pent.
He said the investigation had been launched into the incident.
Father of five, Khalid, has been living in one of the 10 quarters of the college.
A police investigator told Dawn that Latif Masih, a sweeper, who lived in the quarter behind which the body was found, had been taken into custody for questioning.
