Bannu girls outclass boys in SSC exam

BANNU: Girl students outshined boys in the annual examination of secondary school certificate according to the results announced by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Bannu.

Saliha Javed got first position and Palwasha Shahab bagged second position in BISE Bannu, announced Controller Examination Ikramullah Manzoor here in a pres conference. Board Secretary Sarraf Ali Shah was also present on the occasion.

Mr Manzoor said that 14,938 appeared in the examination out of which 12,162 were declared successful. The percentage of the results was 81. He said that BISE Bannu had tried its best to male the entire process transparent.

He said that 8,855 candidates appeared in Science group out of which 7,909 were successful, with a percentage of 89. In the Arts group a total of 6083 candidates appeared and 4,253 among them were successful, with a percentage 70.

The first position holder, Saliha Javed, got 983 marks while Palwasha Shahab obtained 965 marks and stood second in the annual examination. Ashiqullah, a student of Razmak Cadet College, bagged third position with 956 marks.

Maryam Hashmi got 826 marks and stood first in the Arts group, Sana Tehreem got 825 and bagged second position. Maryam Bibi and Noreen Nisar got 811 marks and both got third position in Arts group. He said despite insecurity and imposition of curfew copies of the gazette would be sent at 6am.
