QUETTA: Former Speaker BA Raheela Hameed Durrani said, women in Balochistan facing more social challenges than other provinces but strong will can dispel all hurdles in the development of women stressing upon women empowerment in all fields.
Addressing the training workshop for women Journalists and students of Media departments conducted by Women Media Centre in QPC former Speaker Balochistan Raheela Hameed Durrani said, today the country and Balochistan have many hopes from our youth, the women journalists have responsibility to report over women rights in Balochistan,
“Journalism Students should avoid negative reporting and character assassination because journalists were responsible to follow journalistic ethics at any cost.” She said.
She added, being a speaker of Provincial Assembly we seriously worked for protection of women rights and introduced new legislation stressed upon implementation of women acts,
“Indeed the provincial government willing to implement women harassment bill in work place and educational institutes that was very important for women protection.”
Sharing her views on the recent downsizing in media industry Raheela Durrani said, indeed today thousands of jobs in our media industry were on risk but all stakeholders should take joint steps for job safety of media workers.
