Balakot land dispute: Man chops off nose, other body parts of stepmother

MANSEHRA: A man allegedly chopped off the nose and other body parts of his stepmother after she refused to transfer her land in his name in the Satbanni area of Balakot.

“We have lodged an first information report against a man and his two accomplices who chopped off body parts of a woman and managed to flee after leaving her in a private clinic in a critical condition,” Malik Asif, the station house officer, of Balakot Police Station, told reporters.

According to the FIR, lodged under sections 334, 202/201 and 374 of Pakistan Penal Code, Mohammad Yasir, with the help of his accomplices, chopped off the nose and other parts of his stepmother, Tahira Perveen.

The accused shifted her to a private clinic for treatment where a quack Mohammad Rasheed stitched her nose, forehead and other body parts without administering her anesthesia.

“We have lodged an FIR against the main accused, his father and an uncle who allegedly hid this crime from police and took her to a quack who stitched the body parts of the woman illegally,” the SHO said.

He said accused Mohammad Yasir and his accomplices including quack Rasheed had obtained the pre-arrest bail from a local court.

The SHO said the accused wanted to transfer the injured woman’s land to his name but she refused to do so which infuriated him and he took such an extreme step and wanted to kill her.

The injured woman told reporters she belonged to Karachi and that her mother and other family members were settled there.

“The inspector general of police, DIG and district police officer should dispense justice to me with justice as I have no family members here to support me as my stepson wants to assassinate me for a piece of land,” she said.
