Bailiff recovers girl, man from illegal detention

RAWALPINDI: A bailiff on Monday recovered a man from unlawful detention of Civil Lines police and a four-year-old girl from her father’s illegal custody.

Shahzad Hussain, a petitioner, told District and Sessions Judge Attaullah Kosar that Civil Lines police had allegedly detained his brother Shahbaz Hussain without registering a case against him.

The court appointed Malik Lal as bailiff who recovered the detainee from a police picket established in Tariqabad. The bailiff also noted that Hussain was not booked. The court also directed Civil Lines station house officer and moharrar to appear before it on Thursday with complete record.

Meanwhile, Noreen Bibi, a petitioner, told the district and sessions judge that her husband Tanveer Ahmad had allegedly detained her daughter Sharial. She also blamed Ahmad for not allowing her to meet her daughter. She prayed to the court to reunite her with the child. Later, the bailiff recovered the girl from her father’s house located in Saddar and handed her over to her mother. The court directed both parties to turn up on August 7.
