LAHORE: The Women’s Action Forum (WAF) has expressed concern over assault by 70 masked men on MC Model Girls High School at Rawalpindi.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, WAF said the accused intimidated and injured students and teachers on Saturday, October 8 and this has spread fear and terror across the city’s educational institutions.
The release added that such attempts by radical extremist groups to discourage girls from attaining education pointed to a calculated move towards denial of the right to education of women. Reports suggest that the police deliberately delayed its response and ignored pleas for help, WAF said adding such insensitivity and complacency from state institutions is appalling and in gross violation of basic rights of citizens to security and protection from violence.
