Another woman found dead on road

LAHORE – A woman’s body was spotted in Shahdara only a couple of days after a slit corpse stuffed in suitcase was found alongside a drain near Chauburji Park.

A passerby told the police that a body was laying near the Jahangir Tomb in Shahdara.

The police said the woman in her 40s was murdered with sharp dagger and thrown on the road.

A case has been registered and investigation is underway.

The body of a maid stuffed in a suitcase was found from Chauburji drain a couple of days ago.

Police sources say they believe the victim was gang-raped by unidentified killers, who fled after throwing the suitcase into a drain in the busy locality.

There were severe torture marks of the body parts of the lady.

The unknown killers slit her throat open with a sharp-edge weapon,” SSP (Investigation) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said.

The police are treating the death as homicide and investigations are underway to solve the “blind murder” mystery, said Sukhera, who leads the Lahore’s investigation police.

Lahore capital city police officer Muhammad Amin Wains took serious notice of the horrific death and directed the investigators to unearth the killers.

Some passersby spotted a suspected suitcase on the edge of the drain and contacted the police by phone.

It seemed that the lady was murdered somewhere else but the killers fled after throwing her body into the drain in Lytton Road police precincts, the official said.
