Sir: It is very disturbing that men throw acid on women. In Pakistan, women are being bothered, harassed, tortured and beaten. It bothers me that in our society gender inequality is a menace. Women face a number of problems in Pakistan. One of the biggest and neglected problems is throwing acid on women. Each year many women suffer and die due to acid attacks. In 2012 there has been an increase in the number who threw acid on others. Unfortunately, the police have caught only a few perpetrators of this heinous crime.
I humbly request the government and the police to take some strong steps to punish people who indulge in throwing acid on others.
