Abduction attempt of young girl foiled

LAHORE: A traffic warden foiled an attempt to kidnap a seven-year-old girl from Anarkali here on Monday. The girl was identified as Saira, a resident of Burj Attari. The traffic warden, Muhammad Asif, appointed at the Anarkali sector, was on duty at the Food Street Chowk when he saw that a weeping girl near an auto-rickshaw.

When the warden approached the girl, the rickshaw driver just fled the scene. On inquiry, the girl said that her name was Saira and she was lost. The rickshaw driver was ‘forcefully’ trying to make her sit in the rickshaw. Chief Traffic Officer, Tayyab Hafiz Cheema awarded warden with Rs2,000 and a commendation certificate for his good conduct.
