Girl sexually assaulted

RAWALPINDI: An 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the Westridge police area on Sunday, police said.

The mother of the girl lodged an FIR stating she had gone out of home leaving her daughter behind when she was allegedly sexually assaulted by her son-in-law.

The police said the victim was taken to hospital for a medical examination which led to the registration of a case against the suspect.

Meanwhile, two police officials were suspended after they were found guilty of getting petrol from a shop in Naseerabad free of cost.

A spokesman said after the incident came to light City Police Officer Ahsan Younis ordered an inquiry which found a police van driver and a patrolling officer guilty of getting fuel from a shop illegally selling petrol without paying for it.

He said many cases had been registered against shops selling petrol illegally in the past. He said police vans were provided fuel according to their requirements on a daily basis.
