LHC orders probe into acid attack on woman

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday directed the district and sessions judge, Rahim Yar Khan to probe into the incident of acid-throwing by a man on his wife, belonging to Khanpur.

The LHC took notice of the news published in a section of press about the crime and ordered to the district and sessions judge to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report within a regarding steps taken by the local police.

According to details, Nosheen Bibi, resident of Mohallah Azeem Shah, was living with her parents after differences with her husband, Shehzad. One day, Shehzad came to her in-laws and threw acid on Nosheen which badly affected her face. She was shifted to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in a critical condition. Ghulam Yasin, victim’s father, alleged that Shehzad often used to torture his daughter.
