KARACHI – The Sindh government, with the approval of the competent authority, has constituted a violence against women committee consisting of the following members:

The minister for women development will be chief patron / chairperson and secretary women development Sindh will be member/secretary while secretary home department, IGP Sindh, director women development Sindh, Member Sindh Assembly, three councillors (to be nominated by the minister), two representative of NGOs and two members of civil society will act as members.

Terms of references are: To create awareness among masses regarding violence against women i.e. on work­places, domestic violence, etc., to provide legal assistance to abused women and to monitor the working of crisis centres by means of cases registered and legal assistance provided them.
