Karachi, 27-Jan-2026 (PPI): The Pakistani rupee continued to face significant headwinds in the open market on Tuesday, with the US dollar being traded at Rs 280.90, while the Euro and the British pound reached highs of Rs 335.59 and Rs 386.36 respectively, according to figures released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.
In currency trading, the American dollar was quoted with a buying rate of Rs 280.28 and a selling rate of Rs 280.90.
The Euro was valued at Rs 332.52 for buying and Rs 335.59 for selling. The pound sterling stood at Rs 383.06 for buying and Rs 386.36 for selling.
A disparity was observed between the open market and interbank rates for the greenback, which concluded the day's trading at Rs 279.82 (buying) and Rs 280.02 (selling) in the interbank market.
Among other foreign currencies, the Japanese yen was exchanged between Rs 1.79 and Rs 1.86.
The UAE dirham was traded at Rs 76.55 for buying and Rs 77.30 for selling, while the Saudi riyal was quoted at Rs 74.82 and Rs 75.43 for buying and selling transactions.
