SAHIWAL: Dera Rahim police arrested a man for blackmailing a married woman and extorting money from her by threatening to upload pictures of her sister-in-law on social media, at Chak 184/9-L, Sahiwal.

According to the police, suspect Saqlain Jutt would visit the house of Maria Bibi, a mother of three, whose husband Imran had a job in Karachi.

During one of such visits, Saqlain made a TikTok video with Imran’s sister and later threatened Maria to upload the video of her sister-in-law on social media if she did not pay him Rs200,000.

Blackmailed by Saqlain, Maria gave him the amount.

However, despite receiving the money, the suspect did not delete the video in his phone and demanded Rs60,000 more.

Maria finally informed her husband of the matter when he returned from Karachi, who reported the matter to the police.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case against the suspect under sections 354 and 384 of the PPC and arrested him.
