99 candidates for women’s 14 reserved NA seats in Sindh

Karachi: The provincial election commission on Thursday completed the process of the scrutiny of nomination papers filed by different political parties for the National Assembly seats reserved for women in the province.

According to the election commission, 99 nomination papers filed by women candidates for 14 National Assembly (NA) reserved seats of Sindh from different political parties have been accepted by after proper scrutiny.

A candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Azra Afzal Pechuho could not submit nomination papers for a reserved seat, while two women candidates of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F),

Farkhanda Begum and Fakhir-un-Nisa, could also not submit their nomination papers.

Similarly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates Erum Butt, Zubida Malik and Ghazala Kaifi, and Ayesha Munawar and Afshan Naveed of the Jamaat-e-Islami also not file their nomination papers. However, all the priority names of the MQM, the NPP and three priority names of the APML candidates were accepted.
