Schoolteacher booked for blackmailing girls

KARACHI: Mubina Town police Thursday booked a schoolteacher for blackmailing the school girls by making immoral videos of the students.
The parents of a girl lodged a complaint about the teacher of a private school.
The teacher used to teach the Sindhi language.

SHO Zafar Abbas said teacher Pervaiz used to blackmail the schoolgirls after making their immoral videos.
He said parents of other schoolgirls had also complained to the principal of the school but he did not take any action against him.
Abbas said one of the disappointed parents lodged the complaint on which the police arrested Pervaiz and registered an FIR under the Section 354 and 109/34.
Following the arrest of the teacher, parents of other victim girls staged protest against him.

HUGE CACHE OF CONTRABAND CELLPHONES, LIQUOR SEIZED
Pakistan Customs Thursday seized a huge cache of foreign contraband mobile phones and liquor from a local flight of Pakistan International Airline here.

According to Pakistan Customs spokesperson, the Custom officials have received a information that a huge quantity of foreign-origin contraband mobile phones and liquor, on the PIA domestic flight PK-502, is arriving from Turbat to Karachi in connivance with the PIA staff.
The informer also revealed that the PIA aircraft was originally deployed on Sharjah–Turbat Sector and then for Karachi.

The suspected passenger was later identified as Fida Hussain.
He was intercepted as he was carrying a black trolley bag without the claim tag in the domestic arrival hall.

The scrutiny of his documents revealed that the said passenger was a PIA baggage attendant holding PIA card number 48129 who had traveled on the above-mentioned flight from Turbat to Karachi.

His trolley bag was searched on which nine bottles of liquor were recovered.
However, as a result of continued surveillance, seven assorted trolley bags were lying abandoned on the conveyor belt.
When no one came forward to claim the ownership of the above trolley bags and hand bag, the passenger was asked whether these packages belong to you or not but he could not give a satisfactory reply.

All the packages were taken into possession and upon examination, 1264 mobile phones of assorted makes and models of worth Rs25.
20 million were also seized.
The passenger was arrested and an FIR was lodged in the court of Special Judge (Customs and Taxation) Karachi and got the remand of 10 days.
Further investigation regarding involvement of PIA staff and other unscrupulous elements in the case is in progress.

It is worth mentioning that in the past few months, the customs preventive staff has seized huge quantity of mobile phones, gold, medicines and other merchandised worth millions of rupees.

75 SUSPECTS ROUNDED
UP IN RAIDS
Law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested 75 suspects in various raids in the city.
Rangers carried out several raids and arrested some 13 suspects including six Lyari gangsters.

They carried out the search operation in FC-1 area, Liaquatabad and arrested some seven suspects.
During the operation, all entry and exit points were cordoned off.

The suspects were shifted to unknown location for investigation.
On the other hand, Rangers arrested four from Salar Goth, Malir and two from Chakiwara, Lyari.
Huge cache of weapons was also recovered from the possession of arrested suspects.

Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested 62 suspects in various raids and operations carried out in different localities of the metropolis.
Police said as many as 74 raids had been conducted by the police in different localities while three police encounters had also been taken place.
The culprits arrested included absconders, murderers, dacoits and other anti-social elements.
Police also claimed to have recovered weapons from the possession of arrested accused.
