RAWALPINDI -A five-year-old girl was murdered by wrapping a rope around neck by unknown killers in Soghawat Village of Gujar Khan, informed sources on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Aleena Zahra, whose body was moved to hospital for autopsy, they said.

Police have registered a case against unknown killers and begun investigation.

According to sources, Jabbar Hussain lodged complaint with Police Station Mandra stating that her daughter Aleena Zahra left house at 1:30pm and did not return. He said he along with Muhammad Fida started searching the girl. He added they found body of Aleena in a ditch filled with dirty water. “A sign of scratch was found on her neck and it seemed somebody killed her by wrapping a rope around her neck,” he told police.

The father of victim girl appealed police to register case against killers of his daughter and to arrest them. Police filed a case and began investigation.

A police spokesman told media that he said a police team led by SP Saddar Kamran Amir and other officers rushed to the scene soon after getting information about occurrence of incident.

He said the girl went missing from her house since noon and her body was found by her father in a ditch.

He said investigators of HIU are probing the murder case from all angles and the killers would be arrested soon.
