Islamabad – A man and his father in Sari Saral of Golra area were arrested by police after throwing acid on wife during a brawl, informed a police spokesman on Friday.

The victim woman namely Saira Bibi was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

The accused were identified as Shumail and his father as Malik Allah Bakhash while further investigation was on, he added.

According to him, Abdul Salam, the father of victim woman, lodged complaint with Police Station Golra stating that her daughter was married to Shumail for about seven years and couple had two children. On the day of incident, Shumail tortured his wife and later threw acid on her on the behest of his father Malik Allah Baskash and fled from scene.

He said his daughter sustained burnt injuries and was moved to hospital. He appealed police to register a case against the accused. Police filed case and held the accused, he said.

Police produced the accused before court of law and obtained physical remand for further investigation, he said.

Meanwhile, Kahuta police have arrested an accused involved in gang rape case. The accused has been identified as Kamil Shah against whom a case was also registered, said a police spokesman. He added a female lodged complaint with CPO stating Kamil along with four others raped her in front of her kids in Kahuta.

The CPO ordered SHO to register case against accused and to arrest them.

Following the orders of CPO, SHO held the accused and began investigation, he said.
