Man allegedly kills wife, sets body on fire

RAWALPINDI:
Police in Rawalpindi registered a case against a man on Monday for allegedly killing his wife
and burning her body with the help of his mother in the limits of Chauntra police station a few
days ago.
The case was registered against them after receiving the post-mortem report which confirmed
that the woman suffered head injuries before her body was burnt. The deceased was a mother of
two children.
According to the police, regarding the tragic incident, Muhammad Ashraf said that he is a
resident of Chakwal. “I am a farmer by profession. My daughter, 26-year-old Razia Batul, was
married to Tasadduq Hussain nine years ago. Arguments were a matter of routine between Razia
and Tasadduq. Naseem Akhtar, the mother of Tasadeq, played a major role by adding fuel to the
fire,” said the woman’s father. “Two months ago, Tasadduq shifted to Adiyala Road Rawalpindi.
On April 19, we came to know from various sources that Tasadduq and her mother killed my
daughter and set her body on fire. They didn’t even inform us about Razia’s death.”
A day later, they sent Razia’s body to her father’s village in Chakwal by ambulance, said Ashraf.
“I strongly suspect that my daughter was murdered by Tasadduq and her mother, therefore, I am
seeking justice.”
On the other hand, the police said that Tasadduq and his mother told the police that Razia died
due to a gas leakage. However, on the application of the woman’s father, the post-mortem of the
deceased was conducted and the post-mortem report confirmed that Razia suffered head injuries
before her body was burnt by her husband and mother-in-law. Police have registered a case of
murder against the accused and his mother.

When contacted, SHO Chauntra Saqib Shah said that Tasadduq is an employee of a government
department. “I have written to his department and after the completion of the process, further
legal action will be taken and the accused will be taken into custody,” said Shah.
