Karachi: A woman killed her minor daughter and then committed suicide in her Nusrat Bhutto Colony residence on Thursday, said the Shahrah-e-Noorjehan police.
Zulekha Abbas, 27, strangled her two-year-old daughter Areeba and then killed herself by putting a noose around her neck and tightening the rope by tying it to the bedpost.
When the woman’s husband, Abbas, returned home and knocked on the door, he didn’t get a response. He went to his landlord’s portion of the house, from where they broke down the door and discovered their bodies.
Police shifted the bodies to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
They said Abbas was a labourer and his wife had killed their daughter and herself over financial troubles.
