SIALKOT: Cantonment Police found the body of a 21-year-old trainee nurse in a park on Kashmir Road on Monday.

Madeeha d/o Muhammad Hanif, a resident of Ratta Jathool village, Pasrur tehsil, was a trainee nurse at the Government Allama Iqbal Hospital and was residing in a private hostel at Muhammadpura in front of the hospital.

According to the police, the deceased nurse might be raped and then strangled by unidentified people. Police have registered a case and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, the deceased’s relatives staged a demonstration in front of the hospital and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

Agencies add: The trainee nurse was missing since Saturday. According to Rescue 1122, there were torture marks on the neck and hands of Madeeha. Meanwhile, students of the nursing school staged a protest demonstration and urged the chief minister to take notice of the incident.
