Political worker, driver and woman killed

KARACHI: A worker of a political party, a driver and a woman were killed by unidentified persons in separate acts of targeted killings in different areas on Monday.

A worker of Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, Raja Kamran, 33, was shot dead. Manghopir police officials said the deceased was riding his motorcycle when unidentified armed men shot him multiple times, killing him on the spot. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. SHO Aslam Shah confirmed the affiliation of the victim with the PST.

The victim was a resident of Surjani Town.

The culprits also stole the victim’s motorcycle before fleeing. The police have yet to ascertain the actual nature and motive behind the incident and register a case.

Manzur Sadiq, 35, was shot dead inside his Suzuki pick-up van near New Sabzi Mandi on Super Highway. Sohrab Goth Industrial Area police said that the deceased was a driver by profession and was asleep in his van when unidentified persons killed him over unexplained reasons. Further investigation is underway.

Sumaiya, 22, wife of Fazal Wahid, was shot dead in Madina Town within the limits of Shah Latif police station. Police officials said that the deceased was a mother of three children. Over a family dispute, she had left her husband’s home and came to live with her parents.

The parents were taking her back to her husband’s home to resolve the dispute but unidentified persons killed her on the way. Police officials said that it has yet to be ascertained who was behind her killing.
