Guard shoots girl over debt

A security guard appointed at a kiln shot a 20-year-old shop girl dead over the dispute of Rs 5,000 in the limits of Kahna police station on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Shazia Perveen, resident of Dhoop Sari, had set up a small utility store in the premises of a kiln in Kahna. The labourers and other employees were used to purchase edible items from that store on cash and credit. A security guard of kiln namely Zahoor Ahmad was also one of the customers of Shazia who used to purchase different items including cigarettes on credit.

The loan rose to Rs 5,000 this month and Shazia asked Zahoor to pay his debts. On Thursday, Shazia again asked Zahoor for money over which the latter got infuriated and opened fire at Shazia. As a result, Shazia received serious bullet wounds and died on the spot while accused watchman managed to escape from the spot. The labourers informed the police about the incident after who reached the spot and removed the dead body to morgue for autopsy. A case has also been registered against accused Zahoor Ahmad on the complaint of the victim’s father. However, the alleged killer is still at large.
