Girl among 2 killed over illicit relations

LAHORE — Two persons including an 18-year-old girl were gunned down by their relatives over matrimonial issues in separate parts of the City on Monday.

Baghbanpura Police investigators believed a girl namely Asma, daughter of one Muhammad Ishtiaq and a resident of Mominpura, was killed by her father over her anti-social suspicious activities. Police said the accused often snubbed her daughter, advising to avoid breaking moral laws but to no avail as a result of which he sprayed indiscriminate bullets on Monday, leaving the girl in pool of blood. Later, she was shifted to the Mayo Hospital where the doctors pronounced her as dead. A case has also been lodged on the statement of the girl’s maternal uncle with no arrest till filing of this report.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was shot dead by his first wife and her two accomplices in Nishtar Colony police precincts on Monday. As per details, the deceased Yaseen had recently tied knot with a woman resultantly his first wife Kiran started quarreling with her husband. On the day of incident, Kiran along with one Tariq Gujjar and an unidentified accused stopped Yaseen, who was going from his home somewhere else for his personal piece of work. “Yes, some eyewitnesses have confirmed that the both parties exchanges harsh words and observed scuffle over monetary disputes,” police investigators said, adding during this episode, accused Tariq opened indiscriminate bullets on Yaseen. “A couple of bullets pierced into his body and he was shifted to the General Hospital where he breathed his last,” police concerned said. The body, later, was handed over to the bereaved family after completing necessary medico-legal formalities. An FIR under section 302 has been lodged against three persons — two nominated — with no arrest till filing of this report. Further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, the Capital City Police Officer has ordered the City Police to ensure effective implementation of security plan on the eve of “Chand Rat” and Eid-ul-Fitr. The CCPO said that special camps had been set up for the protection of citizens in various markets, where uniformed police officers and those in plain cloths’ along with mounted police, lady police and snap checking would be in operation.
