Arrest warrants issued in rape case

Karachi: Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ), East, Sanaullah Ghori, issued non-bailable warrants against four witnesses and directed the Investigation Officer (IO) to produce them on next date of hearing, September 16.

Three suspects, Khadim Hussain, Raja Arif, and Arif Ansari, all employees of the Mazar-e-Quaid, are presently in jail.

Razia Kubra, 18, of Lodhran, was allegedly gang-raped inside the Mazar-e-Quaid by the employees of the Mausoleum on March 9, 2008, when she came to pay homage to the founder of the nation along with her family members.

Razia was found in a badly shaken condition outside the Mazar-e-Quaid on March 17. The police registered a case under Section 365/B of the Pakistan Penal Code inserted into the PPC through the Protection of Women Act, 2006.

The case (FIR No 50/2008) was registered at the Brigade police station under Section 365-B of the Pakistan Penal Code (the section was inserted through the Protection of Women Act, 2006) on the complaint of her father.
