Man who killed pregnant wife dies in hospital

LAHORE – A 30-year-old man who shot dead his 25-year-old wife before attempting suicide expired in a hospital on early Tuesday, Kahna police said. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.

The family told the police that relations between the couple were not cordial for the last several months. The deceased woman, identified as Shabnam, was expecting, according to her family. Police investigators said that Muhammad Shahid shot dead his wife, Shabnam, during an altercation at his residence in Gajju Matta area late on Monday night.

Both the wife and her husband went to bedroom as usual late Monday night and they exchanged harsh exchanged words over some domestic dispute. The man got infuriated, took out a gun, and shot himself in the head after shooting down his wife. The woman died on the spot while the man was rushed to a hospital with multiple bullet wounds where he expired in the morning.

One of the family members told the police that the man committed suicide after killing his wife over domestic dispute. Further investigation is underway.

A man was crushed to death under a train in the Kahna area. Police are investigating whether the 26-year-old man, unidentified so far, committed suicide by jumping in front of the train or he was killed accidentally. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.

CM takes notice
Lahore – Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif while taking notice of the incident of molestation of a 5-year old girl in Nawab Town, Lahore, has sought report from police department. The Chief Minister also ordered immediate arrest of the culprit involved in the incident.
