Police nab 30 suspects in minor girl’s murder case

NOWSHERA: The police nabbed 30 suspected persons in the murder of a three-year-old girl in Pabbi tehsil on Sunday, official said.

Talking to reporters, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Mardan Range Muhammad Saeed Wazir and District Police Officer Rabnawaz Khan said that the police had been trying to arrest the culprits involved in the gruesome murder of a minor girl after being molested.

He said the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test of about 250 people of the area would be carried out to nab the accused. He said that three-year-old Saveera along with her five-year-old brother Bilal went to a grocery shop for buying toffees when she went missing on Thursday.

The DIG said that next day her throat-slit body was found near the stadium, adding that the medico-legal report conducted by Dr Hifsa Fahim disclosed that she had been sexually molested before she was killed.

He said the shopkeeper, Jawad and his brother Asif, were among 30 suspects having been arrested and interrogated.Taking serious note of the incident, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak ordered a high-level inquiry into the gruesome murder of the minor girl after the locals staged protest and set 72-hour deadline for the arrest of the accused.
