Man held for killing sister-in-law

KARACHI: The police on Monday arrested a man for killing his sister-in-law over domestic dispute few days ago and recovered the knife used in the murder.

According to SHO Hassebullah Qureshi, the accused identified as Shakeel was involved in killing his sister-in-law Faiza as she refused to marry her sister with him. The police said that the incident took place on Sunday in Liaquatbad area when the suspect once again forced the deceased woman to marry her sister with him and upon the refusal, he stabbed his sister-in-law to death and fled from the scene.

The police claimed that the arrested suspects confessed to killing Faiza. The knife used in the incident has also been recovered and further investigation was underway, said the SHO.

BODY FOUND

An unknown dead body was found from Korangi Crossing. As per rescue sources the body seemed to be in 60s could not be identified as. According to police, initially there were no evidences on torture or bullet injuries on the body however the final report would be made after postmortem report. The body was shifted to morgue after fulfillment of all legal and medical procedures.

MAN SHOT DEAD

In another incident, a 40-year old Ata-ur-Rehman was shot dead by unknown assailants in Mangophir area of the city. According to police, Ata-ur-Rehman, who was a resident of North Nazimabad went to Mangohpir for some work where some unknown assailants riding on bike chased him. After seeing the bikers, the deceased tried to escape from the scene however the shooters opened fires on him, leaving him dead on the spot.

The incident seemed to be done personal enmity, however further investigation was underway, said police. The body was handed over to family members after completion of legal formalities.

Man kills his two wives for ‘quarrelling with each other’

LAHORE: A man allegedly shot dead his two wives over frequent domestic disputes, the Sattokatla police said on Thursday.

According to a police official, Riasat Ali’s wives Bushra Bibi, a mother of six, and Nasreen Bibi, a mother of four, would quarrel with each other over “petty issues”.

Quoting the children, he said the two women again quarrelled over a family issue and Riasat tried to clam them but to no avail.

Later, in a fit of anger, he took out a gun and first shot Bushra and then Nasreen in the presence of children. The suspect then fled the scene, leaving both the women seriously injured, the police said.

The children immediately called the neighbours who informed the Rescue 1122 and the police about the incident, the official said, adding that the injured women were rushed to hospital where they succumbed to their bullet wounds.

The police reached the spot and collected evidence after which the Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the bodies to the city morgue for autopsy.The police have registered a case against the suspect on the complaint of his son.

Meanwhile, a man who was shot at and injured allegedly during a street crime in Kahna two days ago, succumbed to his wounds in hospital on Thursday.

The police said Tayyab was intercepted by two gunmen in the street who tried to deprive him of cash on him. When Tayyab offered resistance, they shot him.

The offenders had fled the scene with his money.Tayyab was being treated for his wounds in a hospital where he died.

Man shot dead for ‘honour’

KARACHI: A man was shot dead allegedly for ‘honour’ in Orangi Town early on Thursday morning, according to Mominabad police.

Ibrahim, 33, was attacked by armed men outside his home in Wajid Colony in Sector 4-F of Orangi at around 3.30am. The body was handed over to the victim’s relatives after an autopsy was conducted at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Area SHO Asif Munawwar said that the victim’s brother has nominated three suspects in the murder case.

The deceased originally hailed from Mansehra; he used to live at his sister’s home where his niece got pregnant. There were charges of his involvement in the matter so he came to Karachi around four months ago.

Quoting the complainant’s brother, SHO Munawwar said that his brother had denied these charges and was planning to go to his native place to get a DNA test in order to prove himself innocent when he was murdered.

The officer withheld the identity of the nominated suspects.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Thursday claimed to have arrested an alleged hitman and extortionist among several other suspects.

The paramilitary force conducted an action in Landhi and Garden areas respectively and arrested two suspects, M. Rashid alias Dhaga and Syed Mansoor alias Chandi.

“Both held suspects were involved in targeted killings and extortion,” claimed the Rangers’ official.

Man burns neighbour to death for ‘honour’

KABIRWALA: A man allegedly burnt his 16-year-old neighbour to death for honour here on Monday. Reportedly, Taimoor Shah of Noor Pur Kabirwala called his neighbor Tasawur Abbas to his home and poured petrol on him. As a result, he received serious burns. Rescue 1122 shifted the victim to the THQ Hospital but he succumbed to burn injuries.

Man tortured to death for ‘honour’

KASUR: A man was tortured to death for ‘honour’ at Sodhiwal on Sunday. Reportedly, Rafaqat had developed illicit relations with the wife of Fiaz. On the day of the incident, Rafaqat went to the house of Fiaz to meet his wife. On seeing Rafaqat, Fiaz and others allegedly tortured him to death and threw his body in fields. Ganda Singhwala police have registered a case. Meanwhile, the dead body of Waheed was found from a drain near Bhai Kot Chak 3. The police have shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem.
