LHC takes notice of assault on minor girl

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Complaint Cell on Monday took notice of a press report according to which an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her relative.

The Cell directed the District & Sessions Judge, Bahawalpur to look into the matter and submit detailed report regarding steps taken by police, along with his own comments, within a week.A minor girl, daughter of a labourer and resident of Basti Raidan, was assaulted by her relative. The family found the girl in a serious condition and rushed her to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.

The doctors informed the Cantonment police about the crime which raided the house of the suspect and arrested him. A case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of the victim’s father.

Court takes notice of torture on girl

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Complaint Cell on Tuesday took notice of a press report that a landowner tortured a 15-year-old girl and forced her to parade bare in a village of District Khanewal.

The Cell has directed the district & sessions judge, Khanewal to look into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by police along with his own comments within a week. In a suburban village 13/AH, a landowner had a land dispute with a labourer namely Zulfiqar.

Consequently, he along with his 20 armed accomplices made Zulfiqar’s daughter hostage, exposed her and forced her to parade bare in the streets. When victim’s brothers Nadeem and Yameen came to her rescue, the accused beat them. Police reached the spot, shifted the injured to DHQ Hospital and started investigation.
