Girl falls from 13th floor

KARACHI: A girl fell down from the 13th floor of a building under ‘mysterious’ circumstances in Saddar area on Friday.

The fourteen-year-old girl was the resident of City Shopping Mall in Saddar area.

She fell down from the 13th floor of the building. The crowd gathered there shifted the body to the Civil Hospital from where her family took it away without medicolegal formalities. However, doctors carried out her physical postmortem which suggested a lot of her bones were broken after she hit with the floor.

The victim was a seminary student. “She left home to buy some household items and we had no idea how she managed to reach the top of the building,” said victim’s brother Naqash. The victim’s mother had also gotten second marriage.

On the other hand, police officials ruled out the possibility of any crime committed with her, however, they believed that the girl committed suicide, said SHO Yar Muhammad Rind. “She committed suicide after she was disheartened over a fight with her youngest brother at their home.” The officer said the family itself informed the police that she committed suicide and police have also recorded their statements.

In another incident, a teenage girl abducted from Ismail Gazi Khan area was recovered from the jurisdictions of Korangi Industrial Area police station. Police conducted a raid at a house in Mehran Town and arrested Fayyaz Hussan aka Sajni. A fourteen-year-old girl Misha was recovered.

SHO Tariq Rahim said the accused kidnapped her four months ago and took her to Karachi where he kept her detained in the house.
