LAHORE: A couple involved in torture on an eight-year-old maid was arrested by Gujjarpura police.

Mother of the victim Areeba told police that her daughter was employed at the house of Rais Ahmad in China Scheme. When she went to see her, she saw the suspect Rais was torturing her daughter with belts. She said that Rais’ wife Hina and daughters would also subject the victim to severe torture. Police has registered a case against the couple and started investigations into the matter.

LAHORE: A special court for gender-based violence has awarded life imprisonment, along with 14-year jail term, in a case of sexually assaulting a minor girl.

Sanda police had registered the FIR in 2021 against accused Imran on the complaint of the minor’s father.

The accused, a brother-in-law of the complainant’s elder daughter, took the five-year-old girl to a shrine where he sexually assaulted her.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Kaneez Fatima Bhatti, the presiding judge of the special court, handed down rigorous life imprisonment to the accused for rape under section 376 (iii) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), besides Rs50,000 fine.

The judge also awarded 14-year jail term to the accused for another offence of sexual abuse (in the same case) under section 377-B of the PPC and imposed a fine of Rs1 million.

The accused, who was on bail, was present in the court when the judge announced the guilty verdict. The judge got him arrested and ordered the police to shift him to Kot Lakhpat jail.

ISLAMABAD   –  The investigators of Margalla police station have arrested an accused for his alleged involvement in sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl in F-9 Park, informed a police spokesman on Wednesday. Earlier, a case under section 376 of PPC was also registered against the accused identified as Sajid Ali while cops obtained his physical remand from court of law for further investigation, he said. 

According to him, the family of the victim girl lodged complaint with PS Margalla that an unknown man allegedly raped 12 year old girl in F-9 Park and managed to flee after committing henious crime.Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan took immediate notice of the incident and issued directions to ensure the arrest of the accused on a priority basis, he said adding that a special investigation team was formed under the supervision of the SSP Investigation Masood Bangish. 

A police team, led by SSP Investigation, carried out a raid and held the accused involved in rape of 12 year old girl, he said. 

Senior police officers appreciated the performance of the police team and emphasized that crimes of this nature against women and children are utterly unacceptable and that those responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

KOHAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Mar, 2024) Kohat police rescue an abducted women from Peshawar and arrested the suspect on Wednesday.

According to details, in a successful operation conducted in Razgir Banda, Kohat Police, with the assistance of Peshawar Police, recovered the abducted woman, Asma, and apprehended the alleged kidnapper, Imran, a resident of Matani.

Acting on intelligence information, the operation was led by ASP Muhammad Talha Arif and SHO Billi Tang Ayub Janan, under the directives of DPO Kohat Muhammad Umar Khan.

The suspect had reportedly lured the married woman from the Phandu Road area in Peshawar and transported her to Kohat.

Following the rescue, a case of abduction was registered against the suspect in Chamkani police station, Peshawar, and he has been detained at Billi Tang police station in Kohat.

Legal proceedings are underway, and the suspect is expected to be handed over to Peshawar Police upon completion.
